♥ in a relationship with the love of my life for 2.5 years now, and as of 05/08/09, we're finally ENGAGED! he is my complete opposite in every conceivable way, but for the most part it works for us, and i love him more than i could ever put into words.
♥ i'm the oldest of three kids, and my siblings and parents are my best friends. we're all very close and i feel extremely fortunate to have such an amazing family.
♥ i am so maternal, it's almost painful. i thrive on taking care of those around me and have been babysitting/nannying steadily for over a decade now. on a related note, i'm also a total birth junkie. i don't know how or when it happened, but i LOVE it. currently training to be a birth doula, and after this, i plan to pursue certifications in childbirth education and lactation consulting. eventually, i would love to own my own business catering to every aspect of natural pregnancy and childbirth.
♥ born in nj, raised in nc, currently living in ut. i miss north carolina like i never would have believed possible, and plan to move back as soon as my boyfriend and i are both done with school.
♥ graduated in may with a b.s. degree in behavioral science & health. if i knew 5 years ago what i know now, i can't say that i would have made any of the same choices academically, but i'm here now, so i try not to dwell on what i could have done differently.
♥ mommy to a one-year-old black lab named jagermeister (jager for short, of course). he's a handful and a headache, but we couldn't ask for a better puppy.
♥ i have a life outside of livejournal - a pretty freaking busy one, most of the time. just because you update a million times a day, does not mean i can comment a million times a day. if that's going to be a problem for you, you may not want to add me. however, i do comment pretty regularly (when i have something constructive to say), i am ALWAYS reading, and i truly love everyone on my friends list.
♥ i'm a really nice girl, with a very compassionate heart, and i'm honest to a fault. if you ask for my opinion, you're going to get it, even if it's not the one you were hoping to hear. i don't think sugarcoating does anyone any favors, and i'd expect the same from my friends. additionally, my opinion has been known to be served with a small side of sarcasm. the good news is, at least it's usually funny.
i think that's pretty much all you need to know, but if i missed anything, feel free to ask!
